A remarkably large gravid Common Lancehead, Bothrops atrox (Linnaeus, 1758), and its litter in French Guiana

This note describes a remarkably large gravid Common Lancehead, Bothrops atrox (Linnaeus, 1758), and its litter in French Guiana. The gravid female was killed by a dog owner after it has bitten his dog. This large female is a body size record for the species but also a litter size record.

Cette note décrit un très grosse femelle gravide du serpent Fer de Lance, Bothrops atrox (Linnaeus, 1758) et sa portée en Guyane française. Cette femelle a été tuée par le propriétaire d'un chien qui a été mordu par le serpent. Ce très grand serpent constitue un record de taille corporelle pour l'espèce mais également un record par le nombre de jeunes dans ses voies génétiales.
